About Us

24 Hour Trading was formed in 2005 by Rob Scott, who, while studying for a law degree at Newcastle University, began selling information products and services over the internet.

One of those products, a horse racing tipping service - Systemlays UK - resulted in Rob winning several business awards in 2006 and is still running to this day.

Following the receipt of those business awards, Rob had to fend off interest from Venture Capitalists in order to follow an unreliant business model built upon organic growth, Joint Ventures and a lack of any borrowing.

During 2006, this 24 Hour Trading website was turned into a home only for Rob's thoughts in The World's Greatest Blog as he and Linda Haywood embarked upon a trip around Australia in order to see the outback and spend time planning the future direction 24 Hour Trading was to take.

Linda Haywood joined as a partner in December 2007 bringing her writing skills and marketing knowledge.

In Australia, Rob and Linda met Jono Farrington, with whom they entered into an agreement resulting in The Wine Blokes (including UK Wine Shop) and Allied Equine websites, and also more generally to work on a number of related projects.

Since then, the business has grown markedly to include over 32 domains by January 2009.

More recently, 24 Hour Trading has divided its efforts in two distinct directions: Business to Business services (many of which are free services) form the 85 Group of websites; while Business to Consumer websites such as entertainment, sport, shopping and niche interest sites form the HotchSpot network of sites.

With either the 85 Group or the HotchSpot Network, 24 Hour Trading are always keen to provide more services and interesting websites in joint venture with enlightened individuals possessing real drive to entertain, inform or serve a sector of the community at large.

The 24 Hour Trading Partnership derives the bulk of its income from advertisers and partner commissions (primarily through HotchSpot Shopping websites) while also receiving a growing number of requests for bespoke corporate blogs, design work, web copy writing and SEO consultancy (which are provided by the 85 Group).

The 24 Hour Trading Partnership is based in the Yorkshire Dales National Park (UK) though the partners, Rob Scott and Linda Haywood, currently operate from Leith, Edinburgh. Visit the Contact section for contact information.
