AFL Grand Final 2007 – Cats V Power – Current Score

At half time, the AFL Grand Final 2007 looks to be heading to Geelong as the Cats are leading Port Adelaide Power 79-27.

As I had suspected before the game, and Port fans must have feared, The Cats have gone on a couple of unanswered scoring sprees, at one stage in the second quarter the Power failed to score a single point for 25 minutes.

It is difficult to imagine Port Adelaide coming back from this scoreline at present. The Cats are playing superbly, and relaxing more and more as they extend their lead. They have the more skilled players, with more confidence, and don’t look like stopping.

I’ll update with a full match review after the game – including some important commentary on whether Cameron Ling has had highlights specially for the Grand Final match… I think he has. Watch this space.

Start of Final Quarter – Score

Geelong look like winning the Grand Final by around 100 points as they lead the Power by 90 at 125-35 as we enter the final quarter.

The Geelong Cats win the 2007 AFL Grand Final!

The Cats capture the flag for 2007 – winning the Grand Final by 119 points, 163-44.

There’s a bunch of players who could win the best on ground medal, though my vote goes to Scarlett, who really set the tone for the game from the outset as Full Back, running over 100 metres in the first quarter to (miss) a kick at goal!
