Alliance & Leicester Offer £100 Cashback on Premier Current Accounts!

alliance-and-leicesterNow its time for me to yet again don my Money Saving Genious™ hat and let you know about a great deal which is really rocking the (currently crunched out) banking world: the Alliance & Leicester £100 Current Account Switch Cashback Offer!

That is not an official title, by the way, its just a name that I made up off the cuff – I can do that, being a Money Saving Genious™ – however, the rudiments of the statement are obvious and true: you can get £100 just for switching your current account to Alliance & Leicester online.

Please check the following terms (plus there will be many more – I think they call it fineprint) before you make any attempt to claim this £100 in free money:

  • You have to pay in at least £500 a month to your account;
  • You must be aged over 21;
  • The £100 credit may take up to 4 months before it is credited (so it’s not a quicky cash fix!).

However, a friend of mine put up a question on Facebook about this, to which someone replied with the following (so I can’t verify its accuracy!):

It is indeed worth it, I have just had my 100 pounds, and they do all the work for you

Unfortunately, my Money Saving Genious™ credentials took something of a battering this week, as I just signed off on an account with Bank of Scotland which pays £5 a month for paying in £1,000 – but in 21 months time, I’ll be the one who’s laughing…

Click this link to visit Alliance & Leicester – N.B. I will be paid by Alliance & Leicester if you successfully complete an application, though the deal will still be the same, you’ll just have helped The World’s Greatest Blog pay for a couple of minutes hamster wheel time.

  1. the alliance and leicester uses 0844 and 0870 numbers for its internet banking, and helplines, etc. They basically can chrage what they want for the 0870 number. They charge 6p connection for the 0870 number and 5p a minute thereafter.

    Guess what, after transferring my direct debits, I could not get into my alliance and leicester internet banking system-my pin would not work, so I had to call their premium rate number, they sent a new pin. The new pin did not work, again I had to call the premium rate number, a third pin is on the way.

    My advice- steer clear of their account, sod the £100 -they will get that back from you via their rip off phone lines. am transferring again.

  2. Every bank I deal with uses 084… numbers. The only organisation which doesn’t is my business credit card – who is ending their 01… number this month! Unfortunately, banks won’t be giving freephone any time soon, I fancy, given their hesitance to run fee paying account which would otherwise allow this. The banking world isn’t exactly flourishing at the moment!

  3. Alliance and Leicester will never get another account of ours. I am completely disgusted by their behavior and sick attitude. We have accounts with many thousands of pounds in them, but they are incapable of providing the simplest of adminbistrative services when requested.
