Bird Attacking Car at Mount Franklin Campsite, Victoria

We considered sending this in to You’ve Been Framed, but decided to put it on the blog instead -and a year later we managed it.

I think this bird saw itself in the windows and mirror of our car and first tried to woo itself by singing a charmingly beautiful song but then resorted to starting a fight -eventually knocking itself off the vehicle and flying off.

Anyone know what sort of bird this is?The Mount Franklin crater camp is about 10km from Daylesford near a series of natural springs. This is gold country owing to the amount of tectonic activity all those years ago. We went round some old gold mines, saw a black snake and camped out in an old volcano as the lightening began on the plains all around us. We were then woken by the sound of this territorial little bird.

Mount Franklin is known as Lalgambook by the Jajowurrong people (the locals) and is only 2km off the Midland Highway (Daylesford-Castlemaine Road).
