Things to do in Brisbane:
1) Go to New Farm for the quirky shopping
2) Stroll along the South Bank and visit the Centre for Performing Arts and/or Museum.
3) Go whale watching from Redcliffe Jetty.
4) Go to the Irish bars for live music -one has a sign that says “drinking solutions” -after reading hundreds of similar business descriptions in the last 6 months, this one particularly tickled me.
5) Go to Allens Music on Queen Street and play on the grand pianos.
Brisbane is a very friendly place -don’t be surprised when everyone asks you how you’re going. The weather is very good at the moment. Around 20 degrees during the day and sunny. Rent is cheap compared to Sydney at around $130 p/w for a room in the suburbs.
