Don’t know what to do.
I’m so full of fire.
Body wants to smoke, to drink.
Crazy with desire.

Where will all this end?
What were people thinking?
How did they arrive at that –
What had they been drinking?

Feels like we just lost the cup,
Feels like life’s not worth it.
Effort makes them think like me:
Does anyone deserve it?

I know this day, will mark the start,
From here great things shall stem.
For now I must engage: to battle!
It’s us who’ll win, not them.

Utopia might be an impossible dream,
But strive for it we must.
Before the species eats itself;
And we turn the earth to dust.

In an ideal world, why punish difference?
What need have we for borders?
In that perfect place, there wouldn’t be guns,
No slaves. No masters. No orders.

Nothing owed by birth, except equal right,
To share in this world unencumbered.
All life will depend, no more and no less,
On merit, and justice, not thunder.

An unfortunate fact, that wearies my soul,
Is that all this has echoes of Marx.
The publicity nightmare; a communist stance,
May always be forced into dark.

One day we’ll emerge, as civilised beings,
Into glory and friendship and light.
But, until that time, let’s struggle, all-out,
For reason. For freedom. For right.
