I love Mozilla Firefox. Its quicker; it understands valid code; the tabbed browsing is perfect for my needs; I could go on and on. However, I have been afflicted by Firefox troubles of late: Mozilla Firefox won’t close properly.

I had rather assumed that this was a Windows Vista issue, as, a bit like Jay Z, I’ve got 99 problems, and most of them stem from the fact our new Dell XPS machine came pre-installed with the ludicrously buggy and incompatible new Windows OS. However, it seems my Vista machine has the same troubles.

It isn’t a huge problem, its just that whenever I try to close Firefox - on the rare occasions that I actually want to leave the internet, and my desk, and, I don’t know, actually go outside or something - up pops and error message “Firefox has had an error and had to close (sic)” or similar. This happens in Windows Vista and XP.

Its no great problem, but occasionally means an instance of Firefox is still running on Task Manager, when really it should be closed.

Any other instances of this problem in the world? What is the fix for it? I had a quick look around the internet for a solution, then gave up lost in a myriad of 2.2.2’s and 3.0’s as well as similar, but inaccurately described problems.

Other than that, Mozilla Firefox is spot on. Did I mention that its free to download? Get on Google and find yourself a copy…
