A Vaguely Related Cartoon about Modern Life and the Internet...

Great News this week in terms of our development and ‘future proofing’ techniques has emerged, including the following hot topics that will see people like you enjoying content from people like us all around the world even more quickly, even more easily and, importantly, for years to come:

We’ve Gone iPhone and iPod Touch Friendly!

Yesterday, thanks largely to an iPhone plugin which I fitted to this blog, this very site went iPhone friendly. Those of you who cruise on in using Apple’s handheld, touch screen gadgetry (yes, that does include the iPod Touch!) will find that you are delivered a low-res, iPhone specific version of this site, with optimized images, and a different layout which takes into account your smaller viewing area, and the touch screen keyboard you will be using (for commenting etc). We hope you like this. We also added Google’s Ads for mobiles, as well as tracking the iPhone version separately with our Google Analytics, but these will likely be removed from this blog (not required) pretty soon – we’re just testing them for other, commercially important, projects we may be planning for the future!

We’ve Introduced Yahoo Pipes Based News Feeds!

Not content with helping Apple users with Google applications (I WILL NOT USE THE WORD ‘APPS’… ever), we’re helping all users, everywhere, to find our content across all channels by using Yahoo Pipes, to create and deliver a concatenated ‘Get The Latest’ news feed of the most recent additions to each and every 24 Hour Trading site.

As this includes the Your Story press release website, where we’re now seeing a great many super-high quality press releases every day, this means you can get the latest tech and other news BEFORE they hit the mainstream media. For Free. It also means that those who use Your Story to distribute news are rewarded with immediate placement on our over 35 entertainment and content-based websites.

Those of you who run your own websites and blogs can use the feed to generate a Get The Latest section in your own site’s sidebar (anywhere you can import from RSS) – the Yahoo Pipe addresses are:

  1. Yahoo Pipes 24 Hour Trading ‘Get The Latest’ Page
  2. Get The Latest by RSS (for sidebar etc news feeds)
  3. Use Google Feedburner to display this content anywhere! Just use the following code anywhere you’d like to show our headlines:

<script src=”http://feeds2.feedburner.com/GetTheLatest?format=sigpro” type=”text/javascript” ></script><noscript><p>Subscribe to RSS headline updates from: <a href=”http://feeds2.feedburner.com/GetTheLatest”></a><br/>Powered by FeedBurner</p> </noscript>

For example, this piece will go out in the RSS feed to every site which features the RSS output via our Yahoo Pipes feed – this is a feature we’d been meaning to implement for a LONG time! See this in action at the bottom of the right-hand sidebar in this very blog (assuming you’re not here on an iPhone anyways!).

We’re Piling Into New Student Media!

Given the amount of publishing we’ve done over the past three years, it is perhaps no surprise to those of you who’ve tracked our progress over this period to learn that we’re embarking on our most ambitious project to date. Its not super-hush-hush, but we’re still hammering out the details with the Creative Director, Niger – the man is a genious with a serious work ethic, so he will be going places, fast – so there is not much I can say on the matter other than it will be multi-author, unique news and entertainment features, and it will be huge. I’m literally buzzing with excitement; perhaps more so because we’re developing such a team of experts behind this one that the mileage seems incredible.

Anyhow, enough about us, let us know how your day is going by leaving a comment full of joy to counteract the strange recist stuff that I had to read this morning…

Spring has Sprung.
