Grand National 2008
Yet another annual sporting event creeps up on us unawares as this year’s Grand National steeplechase at Aintree takes place this coming Saturday.
I can’t wait for this year’s event – last year saw us in Australia, so, while we got to experience the Melbourne Cup from down under (it is a huge day, and mid week, so most of the country takes the day off for some gambling and drinking!!), it will be nice to watch one of the finest horse races in the UK live. I won’t be there on the day, though, as I’ve a prior commitment which sees me head in the opposite direction, away from Liverpool, so I’ll have to make do with using a television and shouting at the screen from wherever I happen to be!
