John Howard to Call Australian Election

After a year which has seen Kevin Rudd and John Howard spend most of their time electioneering, at last they can finally do this out in the open, with a clear date in mind.

John Howard today flies to Canberra to meet the Governer General and formally request an Australian Election.

UPDATE

It’s official, Australia will go to the polls on 24 November 2007 to vote for their new Federal Government. Present polls indicate Kevin Rudd’s Labor party are ahead, though we are surely set for a heavy battle from both sides.
