Joker’s Daughter

jokers-daughterThis afternoon, bereft of inspiration and in serious danger of Googling my name one too many times (I’m number 4, by the way, in ‘Rob Scott’ searches… the fourth best Rob Scott? Personally, I just wish I had the middle name ‘Falcon’ as one Robert Falcon Scott…) I hit The New Current to see what hidden gems Nige and friends have been unearthing of late and I stumbled upon something which is staggeringly good: Joker’s Daughter.

Joker’s Daughter is a collaboration between Helena Costas, who I’d not heard of, and musical producer Danger Mouse, who I had. Those two, allied with director Randy Knott working on the video, have come together to produce a glorious debut single.

This debut single, Worm’s Head, is such an incredible musical work of art that it leaves me feeling a little worried that I’ll not produce anything to equal its beautiful, if short, message. I can’t think of higher praise: Joker’s Daughter are hitting a spot for which few even dare to aim.
