Leyburn Leisure Club

So yesterday I was playing squash and I in my shandy drinking way was chatting next to the bar after the game.

The subject of what I do for a living was brought up and skillfully avoided, but it did lead the conversation on to why the Leyburn Leisure Club (where I had been playing squash somewhat poorly) was “invisible on Google” despite having a website that had been online for some time now.

This brought another of my interesting experiments to mind - particularly given my humble exclamation that “I can get to number one in Google for pretty much any term I like (sic)”. So here it is, and the experiment is simple.

Bob CarolgeesI reckon I can put this very page at a high spot in Google organic searches for the term “Leyburn Leisure Club” and, not only that, I reckon a club member will read this very page. If that club member comes in and I am at the bar, they simply have to say the words “Bob Carolgees” to me, and I will buy them a pint.

Paul - the owner of Leyburn Leisure Club - is not included. Paul, if you say “Bob Carolgees” to me, you must give me a free drink. Then ask how I got this page to this very lofty ranking.

The best thing is, if this experiment doesn’t work, no-one will ever know.

Alternatively, if you want a game of squash against quite possibly the worst player in Wensleydale (providing you aren’t offended by moderately bad language during the game), feel free to leave a comment.
