Outdoors Gear
With summer (ha!) apparently right around the corner, its about the time we start getting itchy feet and wondering where we will be going and what to do with the longer days, and generally warmer weather… if we ever get there…
To that end, we made it imperative to get some camping, climbing, outdoorsy type stuff into the shopping locales. Fortunately, we have managed to partner with one of the best online retailers in ANY field, in Cotswold Outdoors, who seem to have an endlessly good selection of quality gear, as well as one of the best merchant websites in the world. Yes, I did say the world. This is fact, we’ve seen most of them. I could list the reasons why their site is better than most, but if you go there, that should be obvious, and such a list is pretty dull.
So, we created Shop Online for UK Outdoors
What’s in the site?
Well, we’ve got the following (time for a list) categories, which are further broken up into more relevant sub-categories (again made easier by the sensible folk at Cotswold Outdoors!):
- Active Wear – this is stuff like trail running shoes (I’ll be needing some of these if this rain keeps up as I find I’m slipping all over on my regular fell runs!);
- Camping Accessories – you know the deal, remember your Duke of Edinburgh Award e.g., little gas stoves, and plastic cutlery;
- Childrens Outdoors Gear -everything you might need to go for a walk in the great outdoors, but in mini size!
- Climbing Equipment – if there’s a much more comprehensive climbing section around, I’d be interested to know what they’ve got that isn’t in here! Everything from karabiners to Ice Axes and Crampons is in here, and more besides!
- Gadgets & Tools – what self respecting outdoors fella would be without at least a GP, a super bright torch and a weather station on any trip more than five minutes from his car?
- Luggage & Rucksacks – a good rucksack is one of the most important things when walking or camping or walking to go and camp. It makes a huge difference.
- Tents - We found that, on our huge camping trip in Australia, our tent was the least effective thing. It really wound us up. Get a decent one.
- Sleeping Bags – whether you’re in Britain (probably cold) or somewhere North of the Arctic Circle, you want to make sure your sleeping bag is up to the task of keeping you warm. All the sleeping bags in our outdoors shop are arranged by thickness and warmth factors. You can also find sleeping bag liners in case you want to boost the power of your bag!
Remember, its free to look, and make any comment on any item. Please feel free to browse through the entire range of outdoors gear that we have listed there, and remember to check back – we’re always on the lookout for more quality gear, at good prices.
