Rugby League – Great Britain v New Zealand

Tomorrow sees Great Britain take on New Zealand at Rugby League in the second test of the three test tour at Hull.

The Kiwis will be eager to avenge last week’s Huddersfield defeat, whey they lost 20-14 to Great Britain, losing a half-time 2 point lead to lose by just one converted try.

I’ve had the pleasure of watching many of the NZ team playing since I’ve been over in Australia – much of the Kiwi team competes in NRL – and the different open style here is great to watch, however, in terms of power defensive play, the GB team has the slight advantage. This aspect arguably won them the last match, and it will be difficult for the Kiwis to cross the line again tomorrow.

A tough battle is predicted, again with the home team just edging it by the closest of margins.

  1. It was actually a 44-0 rout for GB on their way to a series whitewash! It just shows the level of rugby in Britain has improve dramatically and their could be a new challenger to Australia’s dominance at long last.
