The Great Ocean Road > The Grampians, Australia

As we suspected, we suddenly changed our minds last night and decided we would not continue along the ocean to Adelaide and insteadc cut inland this morning towards the Grampians.

The Southern Ocean coastline visible from the Great Ocean Road is pretty spectacular, and the towns, restaraunts and shops are all worth visiting. However, having stayed the night in the Otway National Park, for free, entirely on our own, in the middle of the bush - rainforest - we realised that hills, mountains and bush are more up our street than beaches and sea.

So thats where we’ve gone - to the hills.

The road from Warnambool to The Grampians is remarkable only for it’s flatness and straightness. There wasn’t a corner of any description for about 20KMs…

We have now arrived at Dunkeld, at the southern end of the Frampians, and I am writing this in a cafe. After refuelling and buying some food, and a pan, we’ll be heading for the hills to camp, and walk… for free…

I still need a pound.
