Video - Kerry Katona Slurring on ITV’s This Morning on Wednesday

Yet another media star has fallen from grace very publicly, we’ve had Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross behaving strangely, and seen Kerry Katona’s worrying performance on ITV’s This Morning program.

We didn’t catch the original airing of this show, but we did manage to track down this video recording. Click here to share this video with your friends on Facebook.

Kerry Katona, the former Atomic Kitten, appears to be slurring her words under the influence of something, yet when Fern probed as to whether she had an addictive personality, Katona protested:

“No not at all. I was on holiday in Spain, I’m allowed to have a drink aren’t I. Does that mean I’m an alcoholic?

…I thought you were trying to imply that I’m an alcoholic now.”

Unfortunately for Kerry, unless I’m very much mistaken, this was filmed in Liverpool, not Spain, and she wasn’t on holiday here. Whether or not Kerry Katona was drunk in the interview is obviously conjecture, what I am certain of, however, is that this made for excruciating television.

Apparently, the slurring was the result of prescription drugs for bi-polar which Karry Katona is taking, however I would question the sense in attempting a TV interview under the (clearly predictable) influence of such drugs.

Whatever the real reason is, Katona’s future as the face of Iceland supermarkets may hang in the balance.
