Wednesday 8th August –Paluma National Park
A world heritage area, Paluma National Park hosts a large section of wet tropics among large mountains. At the summit is misty Paluma Village, where we dined and stayed the night. The cabins at Paluma Inn are arguably the best accommodation we have experienced whilst in Australia. The village is quiet on a night as visitors have to stay the night or else leave early in order to reach their next destination. The menu at Paluma Inn is simple and well executed. The rooms and very modern and tasteful –local pottery is even incorporated into the bathroom furnishings. To guard against the cool rainforest and mist blowing over the mountain, the restaurant has comfy sofas and blazing fireplaces to fend off the cold winter evenings.
